Recommendation: STAY AWAY!

Type At Home claims you can get paid as much as $175 for every typing job, but first, you have to pay for their typing training kits. TypeatHome, or TAH, states that they get typing work from Netflix, Walmart, AT&T, Home Depot, and other “daily profit companies.” They then pass on these typing jobs to their trained typists. You can work either part-time or full-time in completing your assignments.

Part-time and full-time typists can earn $45 to $75 per assignment, while business owner typists can make as much as $175. However, before you can obtain these supposedly high paying assignments, you will first need to buy your training kit. They are priced at $29.99, $59.99, and $89.99.

After you purchase your kit, you will have access to a series of training videos. These will help you prepare for your new job as a stay at home typist. You will also be given a one to two-hour-long assessment when your training is completed.

After you pass your assessment, they will provide you with a list of typing jobs. The TAH sales page has a video that delivers the following steps to become a professional typist.

  1. Register what position you want with TAH.
  2. Complete a basic typing course within 30 minutes.
  3. Finish your first assignment and email it to them to get paid.

These all sound simple but is this opportunity real? You may think that when you sign up, pay for the corresponding training kit, and sign up for jobs from these respected companies will set you up for a constant stream of assignments.

Don’t Trust Type At Home’s Claims

Stolen Content – In reality, you are merely paying for a set of random articles and videos being thrown together to give you access to job offers that don’t pay out. Their website is full of typos and stolen content. For a company that claims to be a typing company, their videos and webpages are full of errors.

When you watch the video footage, you can see watermarks of Getty images in the photos they use. This tells you that TAH unashamedly stole stock photos. While typos and copyright images do not necessarily make Type At Home a scam, but this is usually a red flag from dishonest websites.

Fake Assignments – TAH lists what types of assignments you will be having as their typist. These include typing articles, bookmarking articles with social bookmarking sites, commenting on articles, and reviewing products and services, and posting them.

So far, so good. However, there was already a red flag with the example article they’ve shown. They claim to have paid $75 for an article from a HubPages post.

If you are unfamiliar with HubPages, it is user-generated content, revenue-sharing website. They do not pay upfront for content. This is from my experience of writing for this site for many years.

However, for the purpose of giving it the benefit of the doubt, let’s say is its origin, not HubPages. If you go to the website, you will see that the domain is currently for sale. When it was still up and running, it was only a two-page website loaded with ads.

Shady info about Type At Home

They had almost useless information, and you may doubt they would even pay $20 to a typist. What may have happened is that TAH merely created the site to make it as an example of a high-paying client company.

Nothing but Complaints – If you do a search online for TAH reviews, you will see several unhappy customers telling their stories about what happened. The most common complaint is how they paid the upfront fee, expecting to receive the assignments after. What instead happened was that they got typing assignments that paid little to no money or they got locked out of the member’s page.

I visited their Facebook page and found that Type At Home only has two reviews, and they were really disappointing.

Pay First Before Earning – Legitimate clients and employers do not ask for your money to secure a job. If you have to pay a certain amount to be guaranteed a job, there is a huge chance that work does not exist or it is downright a scam.

Product NOT recommended by

Yes, I believe Type At Home is a scam.

The whole website has been designed to convince you that they are offering you a legit opportunity. It entices you with offers of big returns for little work you can do from the comfort of your home. After you pay the fee, you receive access to poorly collected training materials. These are designed to keep you distracted and busy so that you won’t request a refund sooner.

After you have finished with your training, they will provide you with the highly anticipated leads for the work to do, but these aren’t really leads for actual work. Instead, they will give you a list of businesses and companies that you need to ask for typing jobs. Naturally, these companies have the slightest idea why they have been featured on such a list for typing jobs.

They claim to be active in the business for over 17 years, yet there hasn’t been one authentic account of their subcontractor receiving legitimate pay. Instead, you see numerous customer complaints about non-payment of refunds and the lack of genuine typing assignments. The worst-case scenario is not hearing from the site management again after you sign up.

I have come across some horror stories on make money online forum sites about Type At Home scam reviews. People signed up but did not receive any form of response about how to get the typing assignments. By doing a quick review of the website, they don’t offer a money-back guarantee with their typing job offers.

Moreover, you can’t find an About Us tab that can give us important information on the company’s background. Most legit businesses will be happy to introduce the people behind their successes. What’s more, you can’t view possible assignments unless you shell out some cash. This is the risk most people take when they are promised even the vaguest of possible tasks.

Whenever a work at home company asks you to pay upfront in exchange for a job, you should be suspicious. In the case of Type At Home scam, not only do they not deliver what they advertise, but they also engage in total plagiarism of content.
